All classes run one night per week, 7pm to 9pm, for 4 weeks (Boat Smart) or 7 weeks (Safe Boating) There is no charge for instruction, just a fee for course book and materials.

In addition to the public Safe Boating Class, all Power Squadrons teach Advanced and Elective classes to Squadron members. Here is a listing of available classes:


ADVANCEDSeamanship Norm Burkhardt is the class instructor and his phone no. is 937-890-1921  (email n.burkhardt@prodigy.net).    Piloting Contact Kay Emmons, (937-299-1446), kayemmons@aol.com.   Advanced Piloting Rene Chabannes, 429-0580, rchabannes@woh.rr.com is the instructor for this class.  Junior Navigation Tom Larimer (937-848-6281 or "tomlarimer@juno.com") is the instructor. This course is normally only offered every other year. Advanced classes may be taken in any order, however, all prerequisite classes must be completed to receive credit for the grade.
 


ELECTIVES - There is no course sequence required for electives.  Weather, Marine Electronics, Sail, Cruise Planning , Instructor Qualification , Engine Maintenance
